Things that happened to me in 2007

  • I cosplayed for the first time! It was brilliant.
  • I went to my first anime convention! ALcon was fantastic. I'm going back next year, as well as going to Amecon as well.
  • I finished writing yet another book, which is still being worked on and revised.
  • I started my final year at university (well, with any luck it wont be my final year, but it should be my final year of BSc Computing)
  • I got into shonen-ai, and after shonen-ai, yaoi inevitably followed. Sigh, I was such an innocent girl back in 2006...
  • I started to learn to drive.
  • I got awarded the part of principal boy in Ali Baba! It's been an ambition of mine to play either principal boy or girl since I started panto four years ago, so now I think I can die happy.
  • I watched Shock Treatment for the first time - it's now one of my favourite films.
  • I went to the Rocky Horror Show in the theatre, and dressed up as Magenta. That was really fun.
  • I went on a train all by myself for the first time!
  • I got into several new series of manga, including but not limited to Ouran High School Host Club, Death Note, and several series of yaoi.
  • I got into Phoenix Wright - now one of my favourite games.
  • I got into a new band - The Dresden Dolls
  • I went to see the Blues Brothers in the theatre, and Beauty and the Beast as well.
  • I got a new printer/scanner
  • After having not really been into Dragonball Z that much for a few years now, I bought the manga when I decided to cosplay Android 18, and it was AMAZING. I was completely hooked. After that I went out and bought the Dragonball manga as well, but it wasnt as good as Z.
  • I got the new Final Fantasy game, which turned out to be a disappointment, really...
  • As did the Artemis Fowl graphic novel...
  • And the new series of Tenchi Muyo...
  • I actually bought a copy of the Bible. Not for religious purposes, but for reference when I need to know stuff about stuff.

I'm sure I'll think of some more stuff later.

I always said I was never going to do a Masters Degree. It costs ALOT of money to do, and I never thought there was a subject that I had enough passion for that I would want to study so intensively at that level.

However, I was wrong. Behold, the MA/PgDip in Creative Writing.

I am seriously considering this. However, there is a slight hiccup. At the moment, I honestly can't see myself getting a 2:1 in my Computing degree. I need a 2:1 for me to be a secondary teacher, unless I can back it up with 60 or more Masters credits. The catch? You need a 2:1 to take a Masters degree. I'm enquiring about this at the moment to the university, to see if there are any other routes of entry, but I honestly don't know what's going to happen. I'd so love to take this course. It sounds right up my street.

In order to prepare myself, I shall now procede to stop using all of the incorrect writing habits I have picked up over the years, which I continue to use, despite the fact I know that they are wrong.

You'll notice in that last sentence, there were no apostrophes. Using contractions like 'I'll' is wrong. The correct wording is 'I will' or 'I shall'. Yes, you'll notice this sentence is wrong.

I mean, look at that degree! THE DISSERTATION IS AWESOME! I would so love to do that!
Hmm... I wonder if I could get away with just handing in Eschaton to them. Dissertation done, no extra work. HA!

But yeah, I'm not holding my breath.

Media of the Moment

My Ema Skye wig came through the post today. It really is such a nice wig. It's so soft and silky and thick.

I'll have to try it on some time and take some photos.

The great thing about it is, it's the perfect wig for Mia Fey as well, if I decide to cosplay her later, which I think I probably will. Yay, that's £18 I won't have to spend on that costume.

Just got home from panto rehearsal, which was really quite fun. We got to try on our costumes tonight, and I rather like mine. It's amazing how the costume helps you get into the principal boy role. Without even consciously thinking about it, I frequently found myself with my hands on my hips when Ali was standing there. The best part was my darling Princess Sapphire, who just looked amazing in her costume. Between the two of us in those costumes, I really began to feel like we were a proper panto couple, as opposed to just acting out a lovey-dovey scene. It really helped to get into the feel of the characters. Scene six was amazing.

Inkheart Movie

March could never come soon enough.

I knew I shouldn't have watched that damn trailer. I can't wait!

I took a test

What Mythical Creature are you?
Your Result: Vampire

Are you comfortable in the dark? Love to wander? Find yourself watching people from a distance? Then your mythological creature is a vampire. Secluding themselves in darkness, vampires are often known to posess certain powers of attraction and manipulation over others, especially humans. Vampires often travel among humans, especially at night, feeding off their blood in order to survive. Vampires are known to have the most passionate love lives, connecting with their lover not only sexually, but emotionally, and on a physically dependend level, (the need for their mate's blood.)Vampires are driven almost completely on primal instinct, and because of this, are known to be darker, or evil.

Just returned from my driving lesson. I went all the way up to 25mph. Haha.

Panto tickets now on sale!

I made the poster. I'm rather proud of it. :P

It's recommended you bring cotton wool for your ears if you're coming, since I will be singing solo. Eugh.

However, it has got better at the last rehearsal. We tried doing it lower and it is sooo much better. I don't have to screech any more. Still sounds terrible though. lol. Let's just hope my acting makes up for my terrible voice.

Ooh, I got to try on one of my costumes on Tuesday. It was awesome. Proper principal boy garb.

I have returned in one piece!

Oh god, just got back from my first driving lesson. It was really scary! There's so much stuff to remember!

I think I've got it though, I just can't get the hang of making the car move once it's stopped and all the stuff with the clutch. There's so much to do.

So, put the clutch all the way down, then put it into gear, then you have to take the handbrake off, then slowly put the accelerator down, and when the car starts creeping forward take the foot off the clutch.

It gets confusing doing all the stuff with hands and feet all over the place at the same time. It's the same reason I can't play the piano. :P I'm sure I'll get better with practice, but at the moment it's really hard.

Learning to drive :O

Oh god, the roads are no longer safe. I'm starting driving lessons on Friday. Oh gods, so nervous.

On the plus side, I'm driving one of those new minis though! I love them! And now I'm driving one! I've always said I wanted one of those - I can treat this as a test drive. Teehee.

So yeah, if you were planning to go to Brunel industrial estate in Newton Abbot Friday afternoon, you might want to reconsider.
