Get your thinking caps on! It's another clue!
Anyway, it's not just the wording of the question 'What's a namaphor?'. The clue is also in the pronounciation of the question.

I'm sure I can't be the only cosplayer who, despite planning a costume months in advance, is always left doing something on the final few days before the con to finish their costume. I'm off to a con in two days, and in preparation I wanted my own and my sister's costume washed. I'd been nagging my mum for weeks to do it. I wanted it done far enough in advance so that if anything went wrong in the wash I'd be able to fix it in time before the con. So, yesterday, Fujin and Sakura go into the washing machine. When they come out, Fujin's jacket zip is broken, and the white parts of Sakura's costume are now pink. Gah! I'm working today and tomorrow, so the only opportunity I'm going to get to fix it it literally hours before the con. It's just lucky that I happened to have a spare zip lying around. This is just extra stress that I don't need before a con!

Lemonic Demonade is this weekend, but there's one small problem - there's an ocean standing between me and Massachussets. It's always the music event of the year. I bet by the time I'm old enough and responsible enough to fly out there Neil will have stopped holding them.
Why couldn't I like a little-known BRITISH band?

I have nothing to say. I've just worked my first of six consecutive work days. At least I know ReCon will be there waiting for me when I get to next Wednesday.
Katamari on the Rocks from We ♥ Katamari is the song of the moment.
Ordered Death Note mangas vols 1 and 2 from Amazon last night. They'll be coming soon, so I'll have something to read, even though I've yet to finish reading Earthian and Dr Slump 12 yet.
When I bought Earthian, I was really excited. After all, it's a yaoi about angels! How bad can it be? Oh yes, it can be THAT bad. It doesn't deserve the yaoi title. It's not even shonen-ai. Two kisses in four books does not a yaoi make. Besides that, the story is boring, and although the artwork is good, I spent half of my time trying to figure out what gender half of the main characters were. I give the series one star out of five, only because of the secret garden story in volume 4 and Lord Seraphim's death.
I have nothing to type. Gawd, I'm so bored.
Here is Mikuni from Eerie Queerie - A REAL HOMOSEXUAL MAN FROM A REAL HOMOSEXUAL YAOI. Not that rubbish Earthian that was pretending to be yaoi when it wasn't it was so boring. Eerie Queerie on the other hand had be enraptured from start to finish.
That man really knows how to smoke a cigarette. Why are all of the gorgeous ones gay? (Well, I suppose if you're going to read yaoi, then that's all you can expect).
Hey look! Hasunama is taking his shirt off! LET'S LICK HIM!
I am in such a random mood right now.
Okay, I'm going now. I'll leave you this lovely picture of Mitsuo and Hasunama (match made in Heaven!) to make the guys reading this feel slightly uncomfortable.
Oh yeah, something else funny that happened while I was writing this post. Talking about yaoi, my sister said that although boy's love stories are cute, she wan't something a little more sexual now. She wants a bit of c**k now and then.

Normally I'm against skits that involve dancing. I do believe it's possible to do a good skit that DOESN'T involve dancing. However, every now and then, you find a good one that has dancing in it.
I love the bit in this skit where Rikku takes off Auron's glasses and puts them on. Pretty damn funny. And the bit where she crawls through his legs as well. Auron just stands there.
The girl playing Rikku is brilliant. She just manages to capture her personality and all her little mannerisms perfectly.
In other news, there's a small possibility I might be able to do a Dragonball Z skit at ALcon, since there are a few other DBZ characters I know are going, but I'm not holding my breath.

- A jacket
- A USB SD card reader so I can put photos on my laptop if I take it to ALcon with me
- Some foundation (for my cosplay)
- A dress to turn into a lolita outfit for the lolita picnic at ALcon
- Fabric for my lolita outfit
- 14 buckles for my Dagger costume
- A pair of trainers
- 2 body sprays
- A pair of trousers to wear to work
I'm starting to make my lolita dress now, but I need to go out tomorrow and buy about 15 metres of either white or black ribbon and probably some white lace too.

Yes, I am THAT bored right now.
Yes, the man who looks like a woman and wears a ‘thong’, but there’s something about him I find really attractive. I like it when he goes all poetic. If you read between the lines though, he’s got a major thing for Princess Garnet. It just so happens that I’m cosplaying her though. :D
9. Leon (Squall)
Okay, so we’re technically talking about Kingdom Hearts now, but he’s a new incarnation of a Final Fantasy character, so we’ll let him count. No Rinoa in Kingdom Hearts, but there are several ideas about where she is, so it’s hard to say the situation on whether he’s taken or not.
He is just amazing in Advent Children. I love his voice and the way he looks when he throws off his shaul in front of Kadaj. Still single!
I’m not sure what my attraction is with Irvine, but I love him. He likes ladies and lots of them, but by the end of Final Fantasy 8 he’s kinda taken. It was such a tough call for 6th place between him and Laguna.
My attraction to Laguna has ebbed away a little bit, but he’s still cool. There are three perspectives you can take on him after the end of Final Fantasy 8 - he's either happily married, mourning for his dead wife or regretting not marrying Raine before she died.
That hairdo. Wow. I don’t need to say any more. Shame he’s a bit of a psycho.
He’s so damned sexy in Advent Children, but I liked him back in FF7 when he was made of pixels, meaning I had first dibs. His personality is a bit...different to the others I’ve listed here though. I don’t know if a relationship would last with him. You know that if some bad guy tried to kill you you'd be in safe hands with Reno.
Beautiful voice. It was when I saw him in Dirge of Cerberus with his Turks uniform that I first really looked at him in that way. He’s got a troubled past and still on the rebound from Lucrecia, even though that was years ago.
Yes, he has a really camp voice. REALLY camp. But I still love him. He just has a face that you need to grab hold of and snog, but be careful you don’t poke your eye out with his hair. Sure, he murdered his father and wanted to kill everyone else, but he had a very troubled childhood – it was almost predictable. He’s technically married to Yuna, but the circumstances of that marriage make it insignificant. He's completely untrustworthy though.
He just oozes smecksy. His picture alone can’t do him justice. You have to hear his voice. He’s just...wow. He comes out with the best one liners and just seems to know everything. Possibility of jealousy from Fran, but other than that he’s single! I’m ashamed to admit that I can apply the word ‘fangirl’ to myself as far as Balthier is concerned.
I'd like to hear some other people's opinions on this list, whether they're FF fans or not.
It's ironic that the person I chose as number one is pretty much the total opposite of the other nine.
Well, that was a waste of an hour.
I can't get enough of this song. I don't normally like this kind of music, but I'm completely addicted to this song.
Somebody on YouTube made a music vid with Advent Children clips - that film rocks so much. The lyrics really fit the movie too. Kadaj is so gorgeous. He has to be somewhere in the top 10 sexiest male Final Fantasy characters ever. I'll have a think and let you know exactly where in that top 10 he is. ^_~
You can't help but love that hair.
Oh yeah, I made another blog:
I made it for another of my hobbies, since I don't want to clog this blog up with it.
My two biggest hobbies are writing and cosplay. All my cosplay stuff is on cosplay.com, so it's only right that writing should have a place online as well.
However, my ideas are very precious to me, and I don't want them just hanging out all over the internet, so I've set the permissions so that only people who I invite can read it. If you want in, get in touch with me and I'll put you in the allowed group.
Reasons I'm happy:
1. Between the four Fujin photos I posted yesterday on cosplay.com, I've had over 30 views and 4 comments - far more than anybody expects on their costume in such a short space of time. I don't know why so many people are viewing it, but it's all good news. Everyone says it's really good. Even my sister Sophie says it's the best one on cosplay.com, and when she pays you a compliment, you know you've got to be doing SOMETHING right.
2. Lemon Demon has released a new song!
3. Tokyopop ReCon is two weeks away today! Woohoo! Bring on the fun!
4. I finished my Fujin costume!
5. I got a hit counter on my blog! (It's over there on the right ----->).
I set it up to count unique visits, not just the number of hits it actually gets, because I think it's more accurate that way, because I'm always refreshing the page for some reason, and that would throw the counter way off.
Reasons I'm slightly unhappy:
1. The new Lemon Demon song sucks.
2. Sophie's stolen my PS2 controller and taken it out with her. No katamari for me today...
3. I have nothing to do.
4. Bugger all has happened on Gaia since yesterday. BUGGER ALL.

I sorted my armour and finished painting/varnishing my pinwheel, which means new pictures!
Anyone who knows Fujin REALLY well will notice I'm holding my pinwheel incorrectly. It should be in the hand underneath the other, but hey. The armour should be higher on my arm, but it needs adjusting, since it hurts my arm and won't stay up.
More pictures in my cosplay.com gallery
Literally seconds after uploading my new pictures on coscom, I had a comment on it. I love recieveing comments. They make me feel happy and alot more confident about my costume.
Today is rather an exciting day on Gaia. Since Edmund won last night things are beginning to happen. We've had a new manga today and they say there's going to be more later! Ian is hiding at Gambino's house and Edmund has been shot at! Rufus likes dancing! It's all so exciting! There's something wrong with Ian, and we're all waiting to find out what. He's being treated by the labtechs at G Corp. Oh god, I can't bear the excitement. This is the best story they've had on Gaia so far.
Cindy Donovinh, I salute you.

I'm beginning to get really excited about going to ALcon now, but I have a bad feeling that something bad is going to happen. On Friday night I dreamt I went to ReCon and it totally sucked because there was something wrong with my Garnet wig (although I'm wearing my Fujin costume to ReCon, Garnet's going to ALcon). On Saturday night I dreamt I went on a trip with a load of people, but there wasn't enough space in the hotel for me so I had to stay in a barn and I was very angry. Last night I dreamt that me and my sister went to a concert where they were having a cosplay masquerade, but we had so much other stuff to sort out we couldn't be in the masquerade and I was really upset. It's a terrible omen!
It's getting so close on Gaia now between Edmund and the Von Helsons. They're both so close to the top but I think Edmund might win. Damn him! I've done the Von Helson quest three times now, so I'm unable to help them any more. Please let them win! Edmund was losing by loads on Friday!
I hadn't checked the bars since Saturday, when Edmund's bar was still only half full. Imagine the heart attack I had when I logged in this morning to find this. I think I'll cry if Edmund wins.
Friday, 13 July 2007
In other news, I'm waiting for something to happen on GaiaOnline. They're recently resurrected the Von Helson sisters (me and Sophie are debating whether or not they're twins) and have dropped some highly obvious clues that they're vampires. We all know something's going to happen today, because it's Friday the 13th, but as of yet nothing's happened. There are theories it's going to happen at midnight, but I'm not staying up that late. Everyone on Gaia's wearing their appropriate badges for who they support. My instinct really says support Edmund, but he's boring. In real life I'd support Edmund, who's asking the whole of Gaia for garlic (he hasn't got any out of me! Haha!), but for kicks, and because I know it's not real, I'm supporting the Von Helsons, and darn proud of it. My avatar is a bit of a dark angel on there, so it's hard to say who she would support. In any case, I'm wearing my blood drop brooch to show my support for the Von Helson sisters. When it all started, Edmund was winning, but now the Von Helsons have taken over. I so hope they win. We want some mayhem!
I just hope they have the decency to finish the story. With the last story, I'm convinced they just got fed up of it, explaining why the Zurg just decided to go home one day. I miss you UFO #02! That reminds me, I need to go buy one of those new Water Meat plushies!
Oh yeah, and if you have no idea what I'm talking about, why the hell not? Go join GaiaOnline now!
Then you can have a smecksie avatar like mine! Woohoo!

Yes, we certainly do (inside joke). I bought the game last week, and just got around to playing it. I love it! It's so cool! I normally get bored with games like that, but for some reason I just can't put it down. I love the Prince. He's so cute!
I've just spent today doing a certain something, which I can't divulge at the moment because a certain person might be reading. She probably knows who she is. I've got to go wipe my hard drive now of any trace of what I've spent today doing.
Oh, and another thing. I'm really annoyed. Remember that Powerpuff Girls episode I posted up here at the beginning of my blog that I really liked? Cartoon Network have been in contact with
Youtube and as a result EVERY episode of the Powerpuff Girls has been taken down. How dare they! It's not like they're losing money from it or anything. I really love that episode too! Now I may never see it again! *sniffles* To be honest, I don't watch it that often. It's probably been down for ages and I just never noticed, but it's still annoying. And still, for some reason Powerpuff Girls Z is still all up there in all it's Japanese glory.
Anywho, I'll leave you with this little katamari comic strip I found. If I had a car, this would be me.
Monday, 9 July 2007
I'm now officially wearing my Fujin costume to Tokyopop ReCon at the beginning of August. I prefer this costume to my Princess Garnet costume anyway, but now I've had the decision made for me. My sister's friend is going as Orochimaru and has bought exactly the same wig for him as I have for Garnet. Since I have no desire to turn up with the same hair, I'm going as Fujin instead.
The pinwheel's already broken twice. I've managed to fix/hide the damage, but I'm sure sooner or later it's going to break beyond repair. Luckily enough my dad has an almost neverending supply of wood, so I can make another if that happens, but my paint supply isn't quite so neverending.
If it gets to ALcon in Leicester in one piece it'll be a miracle. Hell, if it gets to TORQUAY in one piece it'll be a miracle.

Yes, I've been taking those tests again.
The Dante's Inferno Test has sent you to Purgatory!
You have escaped damnation and made it to Purgatory, a place where the dew of repentance washes off the stain of sin and girds the spirit with humility. Through contrition, confession, and satisfaction by works of righteousness, you must make your way up the mountain. As the sins are cleansed from your soul, you will be illuminated by the Sun of Divine Grace, and you will join other souls, smiling and happy, upon the summit of this mountain. Before long you will know the joys of Paradise as you ascend to the ethereal realm of Heaven.
Here is how you matched up against all the levels:
|Purgatory (Repenting Believers)||High|
|Level 1 - Limbo (Virtuous Non-Believers)||Moderate|
|Level 2 (Lustful)||Very Low|
|Level 3 (Gluttonous)||Moderate|
|Level 4 (Prodigal and Avaricious)||Low|
|Level 5 (Wrathful and Gloomy)||Low|
|Level 6 - The City of Dis (Heretics)||Very Low|
|Level 7 (Violent)||Low|
|Level 8- the Malebolge (Fraudulent, Malicious, Panderers)||Moderate|
|Level 9 - Cocytus (Treacherous)||Moderate|
Take the Dante's Inferno Hell Test
I'm not making this up. I answered all those questions honestly. Some questions I didn't really apply to, but I gave the answer I swung towards the most. Go take the test and put your answers in a comment to this post. I'll be interested to see what everyone else I know gets.
There's one question that asks if you believe in God that I'm sure will make all the difference between Purgatory and Limbo. Since I'm agnostic I answered yes to that question. I'm not saying he DOES exist, but I'm not saying he definitely doesn't either.

Normally, I don't like to show off my body. It's not that I'm not comfortable with my body, but I just really don't like showing that much flesh. Tonight I got bored and decided to gather pictures of all the characters I want to cosplay, and lo and behold, I'd say at least sixty percent of them are showing off flesh in an area I'd rather not show mine.
Just did a tot up - only 14 of my 46 possible characters have a costume I would feel comfortable wearing. About 65% of the remaining costumes would involve me freezing to death on a day when the weather was any less than scorching hot.
Yet the characters are so cool. I've already picked out my next three cosplays. Yes, one of them involves cleavage AND showing off my tum, but I just can't say no to that character. You would have thought that after Fujin I would have learnt to say no to characters with eyepatches.
Friday, 6 July 2007
Yes, I'm more than aware that this is the fifth post I've made today. Get over yourself.
Anyway, Princess Garnet. I just tried on all my stuff. Half of me really loves this costume, the other half wants to stab the first half through the heart repeatedly for thinking anything nice about it. Is it not just the most hideous shade of orange you've ever seen in your life? I don't even know if I want to post pictures here, but I will. PLEASE remember this costume is half finished. The wig needs work (it looks a mess in these photos because I couldn't find my barret for it), I'm not wearing my neck ribbon in this photo, her corset bit is actually physically impossible to do, and I'm still having issues involving buckles and underwear (I'm going to have to run my panties through the sewing machine to alter them. I never thought cosplay would have me go so low as to ALTERING UNDERWEAR).
Not too sure about the shoes. It's all I can do to stand up in them, let alone walk around in them from 9 in the morning until 1 the following morning.
When you cosplay a character, you pick up things that you'd do differently next time. What I've learnt from Garnet - don't cosplay her. Seriously, she's not fun. Radleia, I don't know how you do it. Once is more than enough for me.
I just like messing around in Photoshop...
Heh, this is rather fun. It shows random quotes from the Artemis Fowl books. It just shows how well I know the books when I can tell you who said each quote and in which book they said it.
Note to Ian - refresh the page and it'll show a different quote. See how many you can get. I'm quite distraught. I don't know the one on my screen at the moment.
'Ignore everything except the wheel and the pedals and you'll be fine.' I'm sure that has to be the Opal Deception, since it's the book I know least well, but I really can't think who said it to whom. Having said that though, it's more than likely either The Seventh Dwarf or LEPrecon. I just found a quote I KNOW has to be from LEPrecon, since it's about Root's brother.
I got it from artemis-fowl.com (not to be confused with artemisfowl.com). Best Artemis website I've seen. It has plot holes and mistakes there even I didn't notice.
They also have a game programmed in Perl on there that's driving me nuts. I'm so bad at it! It basically takes you through the first chapter of the first book, but they've deviated from it a little, and I can't do it! Garrrgh!
Warning: contains strong language.
I've been aware of this song for quite a while now, but only just discovered that it had an official video, and it's even funnier now. There's another good song called 'Let me borrow that top', but as far as I know it has no official video, so can't post it up here (although if you type it in on Youtube there's a load of fan videos for it).
Kelly makes me laugh so much. After you watch this you'll probably end up spending the next week calling people betches.
Check out http://www.liamshow.com/
Oh yeah, this makes me laugh too:
Alot of stuff has happened since I last made a decent post to this blog.
First off, I got my exam results through the post, and I passed everything! Woohoo!
Secondly, I've got a new phone. It's a Motorola K1 in silver and it's pretty smecksie. I've been after it for a while now, but the Carphone Warehouse never had it in stock in silver. I kept bugging them for two weeks asking if they had it in in silver yet. They always just replied that it wasn't in yet, but they had it in pink or blue, all the while nodding like they really thought I should get the blue one and stop bugging them for the silver one. I think they got fed up of me in the end. Anyways, I ordered it and got my new phone in silver. Yay! I opened it and it's so cool. It doesn't quite look like it did in the picture though, and I kinda wish I got it in blue now after all that. Oh well, silver's still pretty damn cool. Everyone else has a black phone, and I like to be different.
I got a 1GB memory card for it too to put music and stuff on. Now, being a BSc Computing student, you wouldn't have thought that the size of a memory card would suprise me, but those MicroSD cards are tiny! I'm making an effort to never take it out of my phone, because if I do it will be instantly lost. Honestly, if it was any smaller you'd need a microscope to see it. Makes you laugh when you look back at old computers. My Atari back in the good ol' days had a 1MB (!) hard drive, and was massive. Now I have a 1GB hard drive smaller than my fingernail.
I've had the week off work this week, which was good, because I needed a break from it, but I've spent the whole week making my sister's costume for Ashburton Carnival tomorrow, and it's been rather stressful. I've got it done now, so I'm making the most of the few hours left of my 5 day break from work.
Cosplay is coming along well. I managed to nag Dad enough to cut out Fujin's pinwheel for me the other night, and I'm in the middle of painting it at the moment. It looks so cool!
It reminds me of Kingdom Hearts at the moment. The colours do it. Once I've shaded it and done the patterns on the spikes though it should be fully into the realm of Final Fantasy. I'm completely in love with it. Some awesome photos are going to come out of that pinwheel once I'm in costume. You just can't help but pose with it.
I knew I wouldn't be able to get it all the way to Leicester in one piece. I've only had it two days and broken one of the spikes. Well, not broken, but just bent and splintered a bit. Luckily, by the time I've finished painting it, you won't be able to tell. More in progress pictures of the pinwheel will be going up on cosplay.com shortly.Panto meeting on Tuesday, which I'm very much looking forward to. I've read the script through three times now, and it gets funnier every time. Shame most people will only get to see it once.
I told my dad I've been thinking about my 21st birthday party, and he won't shut up about it now. Bearing in mind that my birthday is in DECEMBER. I wouldn't mind so much if it was just a month or two away.
Okay, I'm out of things to write now.
Oh yeah, I got a new bag and it has Pacman on it! Woohoo!

Anyone who talks to me on MSN will have noticed my new message: 'Namaphor? What's a Namaphor?'. I'm disappointed that nobody's figured out the answer to that yet. I can't believe that a certain Emperor Sabranan HASN'T googled it yet (not that the answer is on there anyway).
The first person to post a comment to this post with the correct answer wins. There's no prize, but you'll have the honour of being the winner.
Go on - get thinking!

There's a brilliant joke I'd like to crack right now, but can't do so without giving away which character I want to be in the pantomime, so I'm not going to tell it. If someone reminds me in November, I may or may not tell it, depending on whether or not I get the part and how I feel about that. I'll just have to paraphrase and say I've been thinking about him/her alot today (I'm not even going to say what sex the character is). God, that's not funny at all.
Haha! My manager has lost his driving licence, so can't come to work any more! No more evil manager!
I'd like to get something straight. I'm not the type of person who laughs at other peoples' misfortunes. I feel sorry that he lost his license and had to give up his job, but he really wasn't a nice manager. He couldn't ask you to do something without an accompanying lecture about why it should be done. Now we have a nice manager! ^_^
Every year I make my sister a carnival costume. Every year I say I want to start making it more than a week in advance. Every year it never happens that way. This year is another prime example of that. At least I have the week off work now. I need a break from work, plus it gives me enough time to get this costume done. I wouldn't have time to do it otherwise.
I went to see Shrek 3 on Friday. It was quite good. It's the type of film that grows on you the more you think about it. Not as good as the other two (not as many funny bits), but still entertaining. I won't give anything away, because I'm sure there are people reading this who haven't seen it yet.
I'll leave you with a picture of Puss in Boots because he rocks. And I couldn't find a decent picture of Arty. :(
